TL;DR
This paper establishes bounds and provides an algorithm to accurately compute the Morse index of Wente tori, a class of minimal surfaces with planar principal curves, advancing understanding of their stability properties.
Contribution
It introduces a method to precisely calculate the Morse index of Wente tori, improving upon previous estimates and offering new insights into their geometric stability.
Findings
Bounds for the index of Wente tori
An algorithm for sharp index computation
Enhanced understanding of stability properties
Abstract
We find various lower and upper bounds for the index of Wente tori that contain a continuous family of planar principal curves. We then prove a result that gives an algorithm for computing the index sharply.
