TL;DR
This paper investigates the spectral parameter problem in integrable systems, introducing a cohomological obstruction and a recursion operator method to determine when a zero-curvature representation can include a spectral parameter.
Contribution
It presents a new cohomological criterion and a recursion operator approach for embedding zero-curvature representations into one-parameter families.
Findings
Identifies a computable cohomological obstruction
Develops a recursion operator method for parameter incorporation
Provides criteria for spectral parameter embedding
Abstract
We consider the problem whether a nonparametric zero-curvature representation can be embedded into a one-parameter family within the same Lie algebra. After introducing a computable cohomological obstruction, a method using the recursion operator to incorporate the parameter is discussed.
