TL;DR
This study reports the synthesis of GdO$_{1-x}$F$_{x}$FeAs superconductors, achieving a transition temperature of approximately 36.6K at optimal fluorine doping, with observed resistivity anomalies and electron-like charge conduction.
Contribution
First demonstration of superconductivity in GdO$_{1-x}$F$_{x}$FeAs with detailed characterization of its properties and transition temperature.
Findings
Superconductivity at 36.6K in GdO$_{0.83}$F$_{0.17}$FeAs.
Resistivity anomaly near 130K similar to LaO$_{1-x}$F$_{x}$FeAs.
Electron-like charge carriers dominate conduction.
Abstract
In this paper we report the fabrication and superconducting properties of GdOFFeAs. It is found that when x is equal to 0.17, GdOFFeAs is a superconductor with the onset transition temperature T 36.6K. Resistivity anomaly near 130K was observed for all samples up to x = 0.17, such a phenomenon is similar to that of LaOFFeAs. Hall coefficient indicates that GdOFFeAs is conducted by electron-like charge carriers.
