TL;DR
This paper introduces brane tiling methods to derive low-energy gauge theories for D3-branes on orientifolded toric Calabi-Yau singularities, simplifying the understanding of these complex systems.
Contribution
It provides an elementary introduction to brane tiling techniques applied to orientifolds, making the derivation of gauge theories more accessible.
Findings
Brane tilings effectively describe gauge theories of D3-branes on orientifolds.
The method simplifies the derivation process for low-energy theories.
Provides foundational understanding for further research in string theory and gauge theories.
Abstract
We give an elementary introduction to the recent derivation of the effective low-energy gauge theories of D3-branes probing orientifolds of toric Calabi-Yau 3-fold singularities via brane tiling techniques.
