TL;DR
This paper explores the quantization of finite size giant magnons, revealing that it naturally results in string theory on a Z_M-orbifold of S^5, with detailed analysis in the near plane-wave limit.
Contribution
It demonstrates that finite size effects in giant magnons lead to a specific orbifold structure in string theory, providing explicit and detailed insights.
Findings
Quantization of finite size giant magnons leads to Z_M-orbifold structure

Connection between finite size effects and orbifold geometries
Abstract
The quantization of the giant magnon away from the infinite size limit is discussed. We argue that this quantization inevitably leads to string theory on a Z_M-orbifold of S^5. This is shown explicitly and examined in detail in the near plane-wave limit.
