Brane Inflation and Defect Formation
A.C. Davis, P. Brax, C. van de Bruck

TL;DR
This paper explores brane inflation models, focusing on how topological defects like cosmic strings are formed at the end of inflation, with specific examples illustrating these phenomena.
Contribution
It provides a detailed analysis of defect formation in various brane inflation scenarios, highlighting their properties and implications.
Findings
Cosmic strings are produced at the end of brane inflation.
Different brane inflation models exhibit distinct defect characteristics.
The study connects string theory setups with observable cosmological defects.
Abstract
Brane inflation and the production of topological defects at the end of the inflationary phase are discussed. After a description of the inflationary setup we discuss the properties of the cosmic strings produced at the end of inflation. Specific examples of brane inflation are described: inflation, inflation and modular inflation
