TL;DR
This paper presents precise measurements of the masses and mass splittings of certain Xi_c baryons and reports the observation of a new decay mode involving the Xi_c(2980) baryon, using data from the Belle experiment.
Contribution
The study provides the most precise mass measurements of the $ ext{Xi}_c(2645)$ and $ ext{Xi}_c(2815)$ baryons and reports the first observation of the decay $ ext{Xi}_c(2980) o ext{Xi}_c(2645)\pi$.
Findings
Mass splittings are measured with improved precision.
Observation of the decay $ ext{Xi}_c(2980) o ext{Xi}_c(2645)\pi$.
New decay mode of $ ext{Xi}_c(2980)$ observed.
Abstract
We report a precise measurement of the masses of the and baryons using a data sample of 414 fb collected by the Belle collaboration at the KEKB collider. The states are observed in the decay modes, while the are reconstructed in the decay modes. The following mass splittings are determined: and with a much better precision than the current world averages. We also observe a new decay mode, .
