Zhi-Guo He, Ying Fan, Kuang-Ta Chao

TL;DR
This paper calculates the non-$Dar D$ decay width of $ ext{psi}(3770)$ using NRQCD, incorporating color-octet effects, and finds results that do not fully align with previous experimental measurements, urging further tests.
Contribution
The study introduces a NRQCD-based calculation including color-octet contributions for $ ext{psi}(3770)$ decay, providing a theoretical estimate of non-$Dar D$ decay rates.
Findings
Calculated decay width $ o$ about 467 KeV with uncertainties
Non-$Dar D$ branching ratio could reach 5%
Results do not favor either BES or CLEO measurements
Abstract
To clarify the marked difference between BES and CLEO measurements on the non- decays of the , a -dominated charmonium, we calculate the annihilation decay of in NRQCD. By introducing the color-octet contributions, the results are free from infrared divergences. The color-octet matrix elements are estimated by solving the evolution equations. The S-D mixing effect is found to be very small. With our result is . For GeV, together with the observed hadronic transitions and E1 transitions, the non- decay branching ratio of could reach about 5%. Our results do not favor either of the results of BES and CLEO collaborations, and further experimental tests are urged.
