TL;DR
This paper investigates the threshold production of two pions induced by neutrinos on nucleon targets, incorporating nucleon pole, pion, contact terms, and the Roper resonance using a chiral Lagrangian.
Contribution
It introduces the Roper resonance into the analysis of neutrino-induced two-pion production, extending previous models that neglected this contribution.
Findings
Roper resonance significantly affects two-pion production rates.
Chiral Lagrangian effectively models the process near threshold.
Enhanced understanding of neutrino interactions with nucleons.
Abstract
We study the threshold production of two pions induced by neutrinos in nucleon targets. The contribution of nucleon pole, pion and contact terms is calculated using a chiral Lagrangian. The contribution of the Roper resonance, neglected in earlier studies, has also been taken into account.
