Mirage Pattern from the Heterotic String
Valeri Lowen, Hans Peter Nilles

TL;DR
This paper presents a model for dilaton stabilization in heterotic string theory, featuring a hybrid supersymmetry breaking mediation and a mirage pattern for soft terms, relevant for heterotic MSSM models.
Contribution
It introduces a simple dilaton stabilization mechanism in heterotic string theory with a unique supersymmetry breaking mediation pattern.
Findings
Dilaton stabilization achieved with gaugino condensate and uplift sector.
Hybrid mediation leads to a mirage pattern of soft terms.
Suitable for heterotic MSSM model discussions.
Abstract
We provide a simple example of dilaton stabilization in the framework of heterotic string theory. It requires a gaugino condensate and an up-lifting sector similar to the one postulated in type IIB string theory. Its signature is a hybrid mediation of supersymmetry breakdown with a variant of a mirage pattern for the soft breaking terms. The set-up is suited for the discussion of heterotic MSSM candidates.
