Spherical black holes with regular center: a review of existing models including a recent realization with Gaussian sources
Stefano Ansoldi

TL;DR
This paper reviews models of black holes with regular centers, discusses their properties, and analyzes a recent solution involving Gaussian sources, highlighting the violation of the strong energy condition.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive review of existing regular black hole models and introduces a recent solution with Gaussian sources, emphasizing the energy condition violations.
Findings
Regular black hole models can have a regular center.
The recent solution involves Gaussian sources.
Violation of the strong energy condition is necessary.
Abstract
We review, in a historical perspective, some results about black hole spacetimes with a regular center. We then see how their properties are realized in a specific solution that recently appeared; in particular we analyze in detail the (necessary) violation of the strong energy condition.
