$X(1835)$ and $\eta(1760)$ observed by the BES Collaboration
De-Min Li, Bing Ma

TL;DR
This paper investigates the strong decay properties of the $X(1835)$ and $ta(1760)$ mesons, supporting their classification as $3^1S_0$ quark-antiquark states through decay width analysis and mixing angle estimation.
Contribution
It provides a phenomenological analysis of the $X(1835)$ and $ta(1760)$ as $3^1S_0$ mesons, estimating their mixing angle and decay widths consistent with experimental observations.
Findings
Predicted total widths match experimental data within a specific mixing angle range.
Estimated mixing angle of about -0.24 radians explains the decay widths.
Supports the assignment of $X(1835)$ and $ta(1760)$ as members of the $3^1S_0$ meson nonet.
Abstract
With the assumption that the and recently observed by the BES Collaboration are the meson states, the strong decays of these two states are investigated in the decay model. We find that the predicted total widths of the and can be reasonably reproduced with the mixing angle lying on the range from to radians. Further, the mixing angle of the and is phenomenologically determined to be about radians in the presence of the , , and belonging to the meson nonet. Our estimated mixing angle can naturally account for the widths of the and , which shows that the assignment of the and , together the and as the members seems…
