Qiongtao Xie, Xiaobing Luo, Biao Wu

TL;DR
This paper introduces an all-optical switch using two periodically curved nonlinear waveguides, offering lower power requirements and sharper switching compared to traditional straight waveguide designs.
Contribution
It presents a novel all-optical switching device based on periodically curved nonlinear waveguides, improving efficiency and performance over existing straight waveguide switches.
Findings
Lower switching threshold power
Sharper switching width
Enhanced switching performance
Abstract
We propose a type of all-optical switch which consists of two periodically curved nonlinear optical waveguides placed in parallel. Compared to the all-optical switch based on the traditional nonlinear directional coupler with straight waveguides, this all-optical switch has much lower switching threshold power and sharper switching width.
