Fardin Kheirandish, Morteza Soltani

TL;DR
This paper extends the Huttner-Barnett quantum optical model to magnetodielectric media by incorporating magnetic matter fields, deriving susceptibilities, and demonstrating equivalence with phenomenological approaches.
Contribution
The paper introduces a new matter field into the Huttner-Barnett model to describe magnetodielectric media, providing explicit susceptibility derivations and showing consistency with phenomenological methods.
Findings
Derived electric and magnetic susceptibilities satisfying Kramers-Kronig relations
Eigenoperators for the coupled system are explicitly calculated
Results are equivalent to phenomenological models
Abstract
The HuttnerBarnett model is extended to a magnetodielectric medium by adding a new matter field to this model. The eigenoperators for the coupled system are calculated and electromagnetic field is written in terms of these operators. The electric and magnetic susceptibility of the medium are explicitly derived and shown to satisfy the KramersKronig relations. It is shown that the results obtained in this model are equivalent to the results obtained from the phenomenological methods.
