The PennState/Toru\'n Center for Astronomy Search for Planets around Evolved Stars
Andrzej Niedzielski, Aleksander Wolszczan

TL;DR
This paper reports on a large-scale radial velocity survey using the Hobby-Eberly Telescope to search for planets orbiting red giant stars, aiming to understand planetary systems around evolved stars.
Contribution
It introduces a new extensive observational program targeting planets around evolved stars and presents initial findings from this survey.
Findings
First results from the radial velocity search are presented.
The survey demonstrates the feasibility of detecting planets around red giants.
Initial data suggest potential planetary signals around some evolved stars.
Abstract
We present the motivation for and the first results from a large radial velocity search for planets around red giants with the 9.2-m Hobby-Eberly Telescope.
