TL;DR
This paper investigates the role of non-handlebody geometries in the partition function of 3D pure gravity with negative cosmological constant on higher genus Riemann surfaces, expanding previous work focused on handlebodies.
Contribution
It extends the analysis of gravitational partition functions to include non-handlebody geometries in three-dimensional gravity.
Findings
Non-handlebody geometries contribute significantly to the partition function.
The work generalizes previous handlebody-only considerations.
Insights into the structure of 3D gravity path integrals.
Abstract
In this note we describe the contribution from non-handlebody geometries to the partition function of three-dimensional pure gravity with negative cosmological constant on a Riemann surface of genus greater than one, extending previous considerations for handlebodies.
