Double Electromagnetically Induced Transparency in a Tripod-type Atom System
Xiao Li, Yu Liu, and Hong Guo

TL;DR
This paper investigates double electromagnetically induced transparency (DEIT) in a four-level tripod atomic system, revealing its equivalence to two Lambda configurations and analyzing the resulting transparency windows.
Contribution
It introduces the concept of DEIT in a tripod system, demonstrating its equivalence to two Lambda systems and discussing its properties and experimental feasibility.
Findings
DEIT occurs in a four-level tripod system under certain conditions.
Double transparency windows are characterized and analyzed.
An experimental scheme for observing DEIT is proposed.
Abstract
The electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) phenomenon in a four level atomic system with tripod configuration is studied. The results show that this configuration is equivalent to the combination of two single three-level configurations, which, under certain conditions, results in the so-called double-EIT (DEIT) phenomenon. The properties of the double transparency windows for DEIT are discussed in detail and the possible experimental scheme is proposed.
