TL;DR
This paper discusses a new method for directly detecting low-energy neutrino backgrounds, like relic neutrinos, by using neutrino capture on beta-decaying nuclei, offering a potential way to observe cosmological neutrinos.
Contribution
The paper introduces a novel approach leveraging neutrino capture on beta-decaying nuclei for detecting relic neutrinos, advancing neutrino detection techniques.
Findings
Proposes a method for detecting cosmological relic neutrinos.
Highlights the use of beta-decaying nuclei for neutrino capture.
Suggests potential for direct observation of low-energy neutrino backgrounds.
Abstract
We summarize a novel approach which has been recently proposed for direct detection of low energy neutrino backgrounds such as the cosmological relic neutrinos, exploiting neutrino/antineutrino capture on nuclei that spontaneously undergo beta decay.
