A note on pairs of metrics in a two-dimensional linear vector space
Ruslan Sharipov

TL;DR
This paper investigates pairs of metrics in a 2D linear space, focusing on their simultaneous diagonalization and canonical forms, especially when one metric is of Minkowski type.
Contribution
It provides new insights and canonical representations for pairs of metrics, including Minkowski type, in two-dimensional linear vector spaces.
Findings
Conditions for simultaneous diagonalizability identified
Canonical forms for metric pairs derived
Special case for Minkowski type metric analyzed
Abstract
Pairs of metrics in a two-dimensional linear vector space are considered, one of which is a Minkowski type metric. Their simultaneous diagonalizability is studied and canonical presentations for them are suggested.
