Optimization of a Neutrino Factory: Discovery Machine versus Precision Instrument
Walter Winter

TL;DR
This paper explores how to optimize a neutrino factory to enhance its ability to discover key neutrino properties like mixing angles, mass hierarchy, and CP violation, by reviewing strategies tailored to different parameter regions.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive analysis of optimization strategies for neutrino factories, focusing on maximizing discovery potential across various sin^2(2theta_13) scenarios.
Findings
Optimization strategies vary depending on sin^2(2theta_13) values.
Certain configurations improve sensitivity to mass hierarchy.
Specific setups enhance CP violation detection.
Abstract
We discuss the optimization of a neutrino factory experiment for the purpose of sin^2(2theta_13), mass hierarchy, and CP violation discoveries. This includes a review of possible optimization strategies, as well as an application of these to different sin^2(2theta_13) regions.
