Schiff Theorem Revisited
R.A. Sen'kov, N. Auerbach, V.V. Flambaum, and V.G. Zelevinsky

TL;DR
This paper reexamines the Schiff theorem, confirming the standard Schiff moment operator's correctness and dismissing recent proposed corrections, thereby clarifying the theoretical foundation for atomic electric dipole moment calculations.
Contribution
It provides a rigorous rederivation of the Schiff theorem, affirming the conventional operator form and refuting recent correction proposals.
Findings
The standard Schiff moment operator is validated.
Recent correction proposals are shown to be unnecessary.
The derivation confirms the operator's correctness for atomic EDM calculations.
Abstract
We carefully rederive the Schiff theorem and prove that the usual expression of the Schiff moment operator is correct and should be applied for calculations of atomic electric dipole moments. The recently discussed corrections to the definition of the Schiff moment are absent.
