Stellar populations in the bulges of S0s and the formation of S0 galaxies
Alfonso Aragon-Salamanca

TL;DR
This paper discusses how the stellar populations and other properties of S0 galaxy bulges suggest they are evolved from fading spiral galaxies after star formation stops.
Contribution
It provides recent evidence linking S0 galaxies to faded spirals, enhancing understanding of their formation history.
Findings
S0 bulges show stellar populations consistent with ceased star formation.
S0s are likely descendants of fading spiral galaxies.
The study integrates galaxy dynamics, masses, and globular clusters evidence.
Abstract
The stellar populations in the bulges of S0s, together with the galaxies' dynamics, masses and globular clusters, contain very interesting clues about their formation. I present here recent evidence suggesting that S0s are the descendants of fading spirals whose star formation ceased.
