Compact oscillons in the signum-Gordon model
H. Arodz, P. Klimas, T. Tyranowski

TL;DR
This paper introduces finite-energy, non-radiating, periodic oscillons in the signum-Gordon scalar field model, characterized by their strictly finite size and explicit solutions.
Contribution
It provides explicit, finite-energy, non-radiating oscillon solutions in the signum-Gordon model, a novel class of localized scalar field configurations.
Findings
Oscillons are finite in size and do not emit radiation.
Explicit solutions for these oscillons are constructed.
Oscillons are periodic in time with finite energy.
Abstract
We present explicit solutions of the signum-Gordon scalar field equation which have finite energy and are periodic in time. Such oscillons have a strictly finite size. They do not emit radiation.
