Lensing and CMB Anisotropies by Cosmic Strings at a Junction
Robert Brandenberger, Hassan Firouzjahi, Johanna Karouby

TL;DR
This paper derives the spacetime metric around cosmic string junctions, demonstrating flat geometry, and explores their effects on gravitational lensing and CMB anisotropies, providing new insights into cosmic string phenomenology.
Contribution
It presents the first linearized metric for stationary cosmic string junctions and derives their lensing and CMB anisotropy effects.
Findings
The geometry around cosmic string junctions is flat.
Lensing sum rules are established for this configuration.
CMB anisotropies caused by the junctions are characterized.
Abstract
The metric around straight arbitrarily-oriented cosmic strings forming a stationary junction is obtained at the linearized level. It is shown that the geometry is flat. The sum rules for lensing by this configuration and the anisotropies of the CMB are obtained.
