TL;DR
This paper advocates for establishing the Horsehead nebula's western edge as an observational benchmark to improve chemical models, summarizing current abundance measurements and recent findings.
Contribution
It proposes using the Horsehead nebula as a reference point for chemical model validation and outlines the steps toward this goal.
Findings
Summarized existing abundance measurements
Presented recent observational results
Highlighted the suitability of the Horsehead edge as a benchmark
Abstract
After a discussion about the need for observational benchmark for chemical models, we explain 1) why the Horsehead western edge is well suited to serve as reference for models and 2) the steps we are taking toward this goal. We summarize abundances obtained to date and we show recent results.
