Comment on: Inconsistency of the nonstandard definition of work
Luca Peliti

TL;DR
This paper defends the standard thermodynamic definition of work used in Jarzynski's equality against recent criticisms, clarifying misconceptions and reaffirming its validity in statistical mechanics.
Contribution
It clarifies and corrects misconceptions about the nonstandard definition of work, reaffirming the consistency of the traditional thermodynamic approach.
Findings
The objections by Vilar and Rubi are misleading.
The standard definition of work remains consistent with thermodynamics.
The critique does not invalidate Jarzynski's equality.
Abstract
The objections raised by Vilar and Rubi [cond-mat arXiv:0707.3802v1] against the definition of the thermodynamical work appearing in Jarzynski's equality are shown to be misleading and inconsistent.
