J.-C. Vial, H. Ebadi, A. Ajabshirizadeh

TL;DR
This paper presents combined Ly<alpha> and Ly<beta> profiles in solar prominences from SOHO/SUMER data, highlighting their spatial variability and comparing observations with 1D and multithread models.
Contribution
It provides the first combined Ly<alpha> and Ly<beta> profiles in prominences and analyzes their spatial variability against theoretical models.
Findings
Profiles show significant spatial variability.
Comparison indicates limitations of 1D and multithread models.
Highlights need for improved prominence modeling.
Abstract
We present the first combined Ly<alpha> and Ly<beta> profiles in solar prominences obtained by the SOHO/SUMER instrument and discuss their important spatial variability with respect to predictions from 1D and multithread models.
