Charm-Production in e^+e^- Annihilation Around 4 GeV
B.W. Lang

TL;DR
This study measures how often different charmed mesons are produced in electron-positron collisions around 4 GeV, providing detailed cross sections for various final states to understand charm production mechanisms.
Contribution
First comprehensive measurement of inclusive and exclusive charm meson production cross sections in e+e- annihilation near 4 GeV energy range.
Findings
Measured cross sections for D+, D0, D_s+ mesons at 13 energies
Provided exclusive cross sections for various D meson pair final states
Analyzed processes with charmed mesons accompanied by pions
Abstract
Using the CLEO-c detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we have measured inclusive and exclusive cross sections for the production of , and mesons in annihilations at thirteen center-of-mass energies between 3.97 and 4.26 GeV. Exclusive cross sections are presented for final states consisting of two charmed mesons (, , , , , and ) and for processes in which the charmed meson pair is accompanied by a pion.
