Measurement of the Open Charm Cross-Section in $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 200 GeV Cu+Cu Collisions at STAR
Stephen Baumgart (for the STAR Collaboration)

TL;DR
This paper reports the measurement of open charm production cross-section in Cu+Cu collisions at 200 GeV using direct reconstruction of D mesons, providing data for understanding charm quark behavior in heavy-ion collisions.
Contribution
It presents the first direct reconstruction-based measurement of open charm cross-section in Cu+Cu collisions at RHIC, comparing results with theoretical models and previous experiments.
Findings
Charm cross-section measured and reported.
Results compared with theoretical predictions.
Data consistent with prior RHIC measurements.
Abstract
We present the mid-rapidity yield measured in = 200 GeV Cu+Cu collisions at RHIC via direct reconstruction through the decay channel. A charm cross-section is reported and compared to theoretical predictions and to previous RHIC experimental results.
