TL;DR
This paper reports progress on light cone Hamiltonian lattice QCD, deriving an effective quadratic Hamiltonian suitable for simulation and approximating its ground state wave functional.
Contribution
The authors derive an effective quadratic Hamiltonian for lattice QCD near the light cone and variationally determine its ground state wave functional.
Findings
Effective Hamiltonian is quadratic in momenta
Ground state wave functional approximated variationally
Suitable for standard simulation methods
Abstract
We give a status report of our work on light cone Hamiltonian lattice QCD. We have derived an effective Hamiltonian which is only quadratic in the momenta and therefore can be simulated by standard methods. For this Hamiltonian we determine variationally an approximate ground state wave functional in the light cone limit.
