L.A. Ferreira, B. Piette, W.J. Zakrzewski

TL;DR
This paper reviews the behavior and interactions of topological solitons in inhomogeneous media, focusing on their dynamics, scattering phenomena, and effects of potential obstructions in one and two dimensions.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive overview of recent advances in understanding topological soliton dynamics and scattering in inhomogeneous environments.
Findings
Topological solitons exhibit complex scattering behaviors.
Potential obstructions significantly influence soliton dynamics.
Recent work advances understanding of soliton interactions in inhomogeneous media.
Abstract
We present a general review of the dynamics of topological solitons in 1 and 2 dimensions and then discuss some recent work on the scattering of various solitonic objects (such as kinks and breathers etc) on potential obstructions.
