New method for extracting quasi-bound states from the continuum
J.B. Faes, M. Ploszajczak

TL;DR
This paper introduces a novel, parameter-free approach to identify quasi-bound states within the continuum in the continuum shell model, enhancing the understanding of single-particle resonances.
Contribution
It presents a new method for extracting quasi-bound states from the continuum, generalizing weakly bound states without requiring additional parameters.
Findings
Successfully identifies quasi-bound states embedded in the continuum.
Provides a natural extension of weakly bound single-particle states.
Enhances the continuum shell model's capability to treat resonances.
Abstract
A new parameter-free method is proposed for treatment of single-particle resonances in the real-energy continuum shell model. This method yields quasi-bound states embedded in the continuum which provide a natural generalization of weakly bound single-particle states.
