TL;DR
This paper proposes a novel measurement method at the LHC using roman pot detectors to analyze excitation curves, specifically applied to central diffractive W pair production, enhancing the understanding of particle kinematics.
Contribution
It introduces a new measurement technique based on excitation curves for analyzing diffractive processes at the LHC, demonstrated with W pair production.
Findings
Effective measurement of kinematical properties using excitation curves.
Potential for improved analysis of diffractive W pair production.
Method applicable to other diffractive processes.
Abstract
We propose a new set of measurements which can be performed at the LHC using roman pot detectors. This new method is based on exploiting excitation curves to measure kinematical properties of produced particles. We illustrate it in the case of central diffractive W pair production.
