Equivalence of Gutzwiller and slave-boson mean-field theories for multi-band Hubbard models
Joerg Buenemann, Florian Gebhard

TL;DR
This paper proves the equivalence between the slave-boson and Gutzwiller mean-field theories for multi-band Hubbard models, clarifying their relationship and limitations at zero temperature.
Contribution
It establishes a formal equivalence between two prominent mean-field approaches for multi-band Hubbard models, enhancing theoretical understanding.
Findings
Slave-boson and Gutzwiller theories are equivalent at zero temperature.
The paper clarifies the relationship between objects in both theories.
Discusses limitations of both methods.
Abstract
We demonstrate that a recently introduced slave-boson mean-field theory is equivalent to our Gutzwiller theory for multi-band Hubbard models with general onsite interactions. We relate the different objects that appear in both approaches at zero temperature and discuss the limitations of both methods.
