TL;DR
This study observes $ ext{Lambda}d$ correlations in $^4$He reactions with stopped $K^-$, revealing evidence of three-nucleon absorption processes and distinct invariant mass peaks indicating complex hyperon-nucleon interactions.
Contribution
It provides new experimental evidence of three-nucleon absorption processes involving $K^-$ in $^4$He and identifies specific invariant mass features related to hyperon-nucleon interactions.
Findings
Identification of a prominent event cluster below the mass threshold in $ ext{Lambda}d$ spectrum.
Observation of a significant strength below approximately 3220 MeV/$c^2$ in the invariant mass spectrum.
Detection of a peak in $ ext{Sigma}^0 dn$ events similar to $ ext{Lambda} dn$ cases.
Abstract
We have observed an intense high-energy component in an inclusive He(stopped , ) spectrum. For back-to-back pairs a prominent event cluster has been found just below the mass threshold in the invariant mass spectrum of events, which is evidence for a three-nucleon absorption process of in He. In addition, an appreciable strength is revealed below 3220 MeV/. Well separated events show a peak similar to the case of .
