Corotating Interaction Regions and clumping
R. Blomme

TL;DR
This paper develops hydrodynamical models for Corotating Interaction Regions to understand stellar wind features, but encounters challenges in replicating observed rotational modulations in HD 64760.
Contribution
It introduces hydrodynamical models for CIRs and analyzes their effectiveness in explaining stellar wind phenomena, highlighting modeling limitations.
Findings
Models successfully simulate Discrete Absorption Components.
Failed to reproduce rotational modulations in HD 64760.
Identifies challenges in modeling stellar wind variability.
Abstract
We present hydrodynamical models for Corotating Interaction Regions, which were used by Lobel (2007) to model the Discrete Absorption Components in HD 64760. We also discuss our failure to model the rotational modulations seen in the same star.
