Interchangeability of Combined Piezoelectrooptic Effect in LiTaO3 and LiNbO3 Crystals
O. Mys, R. Vlokh

TL;DR
This paper investigates the combined piezoelectrooptic effect in LiTaO3 and LiNbO3 crystals, demonstrating that its coefficients are interchangeable with those from separate piezooptic and electrooptic effects, indicating a consistent underlying mechanism.
Contribution
It provides the first experimental verification that the combined PEO effect coefficients are interchangeable with individual PO and EO coefficients in these crystals.
Findings
PEO coefficients match independently measured PO and EO coefficients
The combined PEO effect is interchangeable with separate effects
Results support a unified understanding of PEO in LiNbO3 and LiTaO3
Abstract
In the present paper the coefficients of piezooptic (PO), electrooptic (EO) and combined piezoelectrooptic (PEO) effects for LiNbO3 and LiTaO3 crystals are reported. It is shown that the combined PEO effect is interchangeable, i.e. its coefficients determined independ-ently from the EO and PO experiments are the same.
