TL;DR
This paper evaluates the potential for studying open charm production at upcoming GSI-FAIR and J-PARC facilities, focusing on differential cross sections and spin asymmetries with next-to-leading order precision.
Contribution
It provides a detailed phenomenological analysis of open charm production prospects at GSI-FAIR and J-PARC, including theoretical uncertainty estimates.
Findings
Differential cross sections are calculated for open charm production.
Charge and double-spin asymmetries are analyzed at NLO accuracy.
Theoretical uncertainties are quantified by parameter variations.
Abstract
We present a detailed phenomenological study of the prospects of open charm physics at the future and facilities GSI-FAIR and J-PARC, respectively. In particular, we concentrate on differential cross sections and the charge and longitudinal double-spin asymmetries at next-to-leading order accuracy. Theoretical uncertainties for the proposed observables are estimated by varying the charm quark mass and the renormalization and factorization scales.
