TL;DR
This paper measures cross sections of specific multi-hadron final states in electron-positron collisions using initial-state radiation, revealing intermediate resonances and charmonium contributions with high-statistics data from BaBar.
Contribution
It provides the first detailed measurements of these multi-hadron cross sections and isolates intermediate states, including resonances like $ ho$, $ ho(1420)$, $ ho(1650)$, and charmonium states.
Findings
Observation of intermediate states such as $ ho$, $ ho(1420)$, $ ho(1650)$.
Measurement of $J/ar{J}$ and $ar{ ext{psi}}(2S)$ branching fractions.
Cross sections for multi-hadron final states from threshold to 5 GeV.
Abstract
We study the processes , , and with the hard photon radiated from the initial state. About 20000, 4300, 5500 and 375 fully reconstructed events, respectively, are selected from 232 fb of BaBar data. The invariant mass of the hadronic final state defines the effective center-of-mass energy, so that the obtained cross sections from the threshold to about 5 GeV can be compared with corresponding direct \epem measurements, currently available only for the and submodes of the channel. Studying the structure of these events, we find contributions from a number of intermediate states, and we extract their cross sections where possible. In particular, we isolate the contribution from $e^+…
