TL;DR
This paper explores new brane world models with topological defects and periodic structures in the bulk, leading to naturally compactified extra dimensions in inflating brane scenarios.
Contribution
It introduces novel solutions with periodic bulk structures, expanding the understanding of compactification in brane world models with topological defects.
Findings
Discovery of periodic solutions in bulk radial coordinate
Examples of naturally compactified brane worlds
Enhanced models of inflating branes with topological defects
Abstract
We study brane world models which contain local topological defects in the bulk and a (3+1)-dimensional inflating brane. We put the emphasis on new types of solutions that are periodic in the bulk radial coordinate and thus provide examples of "naturally compactified" brane worlds.
