Kinematical Constraints on QCD Factorization in the Drell-Yan Process
Hidekazu Tanaka, Yu Matsuda, Hirokazu Kobayashi (Rikkyo University)

TL;DR
This paper investigates how kinematical constraints affect QCD factorization in the Drell-Yan process, comparing different schemes and analyzing their impact on cross section calculations.
Contribution
It introduces a factorization scheme incorporating kinematical constraints and compares it with the conventional ar MS scheme for the Drell-Yan process.
Findings
Kinematical constraints influence the factorized cross sections.
Comparison shows differences between ar MS and constrained schemes.
Properties of factorized cross sections are discussed.
Abstract
We study factorization schemes for parton shower models in hadron-hadron collisions. As an example, we calculate lepton pair production mediated by a virtual photon in quark--anti-quark annihilation, and we compare factorized cross sections obtained in the conventional scheme with those obtained in a factorization scheme in which a kinematical constraint due to parton radiation is taken into account. We discuss some properties of factorized cross sections.
