TL;DR
This paper presents a quasiclassical Green function method for 2D electron gases with spin-orbit coupling, enabling straightforward calculation of spin-Hall conductivity considering spin-flip scattering.
Contribution
It introduces a clear interpretation of the $\xi$-integration in the quasiclassical approach and applies it to derive spin-Hall conductivity in complex scattering scenarios.
Findings
The method simplifies calculating spin-Hall conductivity with spin-flip scattering.
The $\xi$-integration procedure clarifies the physical meaning in the quasiclassical framework.
Spin-density continuity equation is used to derive conductivity results.
Abstract
We discuss the quasiclassical Green function method for a two-dimensional electron gas in the presence of spin-orbit coupling, with emphasis on the meaning of the -integration procedure. As an application of our approach, we demonstrate how the spin-Hall conductivity, in the presence of spin-flip scattering, can be easily obtained from the spin-density continuity equation.
