TL;DR
This paper investigates a pressure-induced transition from metal to insulator in MgV_2O_4 using thermoelectric measurements and ab initio calculations, revealing a transition around 6 GPa.
Contribution
It combines experimental thermoelectric data with theoretical calculations to identify a high-pressure metal-insulator transition in MgV_2O_4.
Findings
Transition occurs at approximately 6 GPa
Thermoelectric power results support the transition
Ab initio calculations confirm the transition mechanism
Abstract
On the basis of experimental thermoelectric power results and ab initio calculations, we propose that a metal-insulator transition takes place at high pressure (approximately 6 GPa) in MgV_2O_4.
