Exclusive branching fraction measurements of semileptonic tau decays into three charged hadrons, $\tau^- \to \phi \pi^- \nu_\tau$ and $\tau^- \to \phi K^- \nu_\tau$
The BABAR Collaboration: B. Aubert, et al

TL;DR
This paper reports precise measurements of branching fractions for specific semileptonic tau decays into three charged hadrons, including first-time measurements for some modes, using data from the BABAR detector at SLAC.
Contribution
The study provides the first resonant plus non-resonant measurement of the tau decay into three kaons and improves existing measurements of related decay modes.
Findings
Measured branching fraction of tau to three pions with high precision.
First measurement of tau to phi pi minus decay.
First combined resonant and non-resonant measurement of tau to three kaons.
Abstract
Using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 342 collected with the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II electron-positron storage ring operating at a center-of-mass energy near 10.58 GeV, we measure , , and , where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. Events where the pair is consistent with coming from a are excluded. These are significant improvements over previous measurements, with the result being the first resonant plus non-resonant…
