On fluctuations of closed string tachyon solitons
Shlomo S. Razamat

TL;DR
This paper analyzes the stability of closed string tachyon solitons using effective field theory, demonstrating they are free of tachyons regardless of the potential's shape.
Contribution
It shows that closed string solitons are stable against tachyonic fluctuations within the low energy effective field theory framework.
Findings
Closed string solitons are tachyon-free in the effective theory.
Stability holds regardless of the tachyon potential shape.
Fluctuation analysis confirms soliton stability.
Abstract
We discuss fluctuations on solitons in the dilaton/graviton/tachyon system using the low energy effective field theory approach. It is shown that closed string solitons are free of tachyons in this approximation, regardless of the exact shape of the tachyon potential.
