TL;DR
This paper investigates dispersive optical shock waves in nonlocal nonlinear media, combining experimental observations in thermal liquids with hydrodynamic theory to understand their propagation behavior.
Contribution
It introduces experimental validation of dispersive shock waves in nonlocal media and links observations with hydrodynamic modeling.
Findings
Experimental confirmation of dispersive shock waves in thermal liquids
Agreement between experimental results and hydrodynamic theory
Insights into nonlocal nonlinear effects on shock wave propagation
Abstract
We consider dispersive optical shock waves in nonlocal nonlinear media. Experiments are performed using spatial beams in a thermal liquid cell, and results agree with a hydrodynamic theory of propagation.
