Rescattering effects and the determination of the gluon density for x << 1
F. Hautmann

TL;DR
This paper investigates how rescattering effects influence the extraction of gluon density at very small x values from DIS data, proposing a method based on s-channel calculations to estimate these effects and discussing broader applications.
Contribution
It introduces a novel approach using s-channel calculations to estimate rescattering effects in gluon density determination at small x.
Findings
Rescattering effects can significantly impact gluon density measurements.
The proposed method provides a way to estimate these effects from DIS data.
Potential applications include diffractive and multi-parton interactions.
Abstract
We consider the possible role of rescattering effects in the determination of the gluon density for the LHC from DIS data. We discuss a method that uses results of s-channel calculations to estimate these effects, and comment on potential applications to diffractive and multi-parton interactions.
