Towards a covariant model for cosmic self-acceleration
Alexey S. Koshelev, Theodore N. Tomaras

TL;DR
This paper introduces a covariant model for cosmic self-acceleration using a bulk scalar field with non-minimal coupling, aiming to improve stability over previous DGP models.
Contribution
It presents a covariant formulation of a modified DGP scenario with a bulk scalar field, enhancing stability and general applicability.
Findings
Provides a covariant framework for cosmic self-acceleration
Addresses instability issues in previous models
Offers a general method applicable to other theories
Abstract
An explicitly covariant formulation is presented of a modified DGP scenario proposed recently [1], to avoid the instability of the self-accelerating branch. It is based on the introduction of a bulk scalar field with appropriate non-minimal coupling to the bulk Einstein-Hilbert term. The method is general and may be applied to other models as well.
