Jet Areas, and What They are Good For
Matteo Cacciari

TL;DR
This paper introduces the concept of jet areas to effectively subtract diffuse noise from jets, improving the accuracy of jet measurements in high-energy physics experiments.
Contribution
It presents a novel method of using jet areas for noise subtraction, enhancing jet analysis techniques in particle physics.
Findings
Jet areas enable effective subtraction of diffuse noise.
The method improves jet measurement accuracy.
Applicable to high-energy physics experiments.
Abstract
We introduce the concept of the area of a jet, and show how it can be used to perform the subtraction of even a large amount of diffuse noise from hard jets.
