Charged Lepton Mass Formula -- Development and Prospect --
Yoshio Koide

TL;DR
This paper reviews recent developments in a charged lepton mass formula linking the masses of electrons, muons, and tau particles, exploring symmetry models like S_3 and A_4 for their potential to explain the relation.
Contribution
It introduces and discusses a specific mass formula for charged leptons and evaluates the potential of S_3 and A_4 symmetry models to support this relation.
Findings
The mass formula relates lepton masses through a quadratic expression.
S_3 and A_4 models are promising frameworks for explaining the mass relation.
The review highlights prospects for future theoretical developments.
Abstract
The recent devolopment on the charged lepton mass forumula m_e+m_{\mu}+m_{\tau}={2/3}(\sqrt{m_e}+\sqrt{m_\mu}+\sqrt{m_{\tau}})^2 is reviewed. An S_3 or A_4 model will be promising for the mass relation.
